Wow, I was happy to see all the online music stores, and the comparison is very interesting. Over a year ago I started to download music to an mp3 player, but I have let that project slide. The AARP guide is very helpful:

Now, with all this new knowledge, my second New Year's Resolution is to get going on this project again and get all my favorite tunes in one place. No need to buy cds that only have one or two good songs on them. I'm very willing to pay for the songs I like.
As I am typing this I am letting the music of Jim Brickman sooth my soul on my own Pandora station. It was very easy to do and the quality of music is surprisingly good.
